Sensational Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage, has dismissed viral claims of intentionally releasing her sex tape to be relevant.
Naijaonpoint recalls that in October 2021, the singer made headlines after her sex tape was released online by someone who was trying to blackmail her.
Following the leaked video, Tiwa Savage was criticised and blamed by some members of the public for refusing to be extorted.
However, during her recent interview with American radio station Hot 97, Tiwa Savage stated that she would have been intentional about the sex tape if she had wanted to use it to get sympathy.
She said, “I was bashed for my sex video. Lot of people think I was just trying to get sympathy. Even people with platforms were quite horrible and blamed me.
“I don’t know how they couldn’t see me as the victim in this. They said I did it to be relevant. If I were doing that, I would’ve been intentional about it. I would have used better lighting, lingerie, and my facial expressions would have been on point.”
Meanwhile, Tiwa Savage recently opened up about a past relationship with a well-known personality that was kept hidden from the public.
She revealed during an interview on The JMatt Show that the man, who was also in the spotlight, demanded that their relationship remain private.
Savage explained that she accepted the arrangement at first but later found it troubling because of the extreme lengths he went to in order to protect their secret.
According to her, the man insisted on acting like they were strangers in public, even going as far as openly mingling with others while she was present.
Savage admitted that the situation became uncomfortable, especially when he behaved in ways that left her unable to react, since it was all part of his attempt to avoid suspicion.
