N.O.R.E. has spoken out in defense of his decision to air a controversial Drink Champs episode with Florida rapper Kodak Black back in 2023.
During the interview, Yak seemed heavily under the influence, rambling and mumbling at times, slurring his words, and not fit for conversation.

Fans slammed N.O.R.E. at the time, accusing him of exploiting Kodak Black’s condition and calling him out for making the interview public.
“As an OG, I don’t need clickbait. But as an OG in this rap game, I also have to let other people be who they are. Like I can’t sit them and censor them,” he said on The Joe Budden podcast.
“Kodak Black, I see at the bank every two days. This is what you don’t know. Like, I see him and he’s crazy. He’s there with no shoes on,” N.O.R.E. continued. “I had to let Kodak be who he was.”
Kodak Black has been battling with addiction for years, but fans have noticed a steep decline over the past couple of years. In a recent freestyle, he even claimed to have a meth habit.
