The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has foiled a terrorist assault on troops in Rann, Borno State, killing several fleeing insurgents in the process.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, was carried out under Operation Hadin Kai through coordinated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Air Interdiction missions.
According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, credible intelligence enabled the Air Component to link up with ground troops, identify clusters of the attackers attempting to escape, and strike them with precision munitions.
He said the swift operation restored calm in Rann and demonstrated the Air Force’s commitment to providing close air support, protecting troops, and swiftly neutralising insurgent threats.
