‎NAF Cautions Barrack Youths Against Risky Movements, Promotes Sports‎

‎The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has encouraged barrack youths to embrace sporting activities as a way of minimising unnecessary movements in identified threat-prone areas.

‎The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has encouraged barrack youths to embrace sporting activities as a way of minimising unnecessary movements in identified threat-prone areas.

‎Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Training Command (ATC), AVM Ahmed Dari, gave the charge at the closing ceremony of the Year 2025 NAF Base Kaduna Youths Sports Competition.

‎Dari noted that the week-long event was designed to promote safety, physical fitness, teamwork, and social interaction among young people within NAF bases across the country.

‎“As we are all aware, sporting activities are part of our life endeavours all over the world,” he said, adding that the initiative was also to positively engage youths during vacations and keep them away from unwholesome activities.

‎He reiterated that beyond competition, the aim was to nurture sportsmanship, interpersonal relationships, and identify talents who could represent the service in national tournaments.

‎“With the current security challenges in the country, there is the need for you to be fully and actively involved in one sporting activity or the other. This will help eliminate unnecessary movements within identified threat locations and areas,” he cautioned.

‎Dari commended participants, congratulating the winners, Block E and Fulani Quarters, while Happier Valley and GRA Quarters came second and third respectively.

‎He also expressed appreciation to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, for his continuous support to youth development in NAF, as well as the organising committee for successfully hosting the event.

‎The competition featured football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and badminton, with teams drawn from various barracks quarters within the base.
