The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has eliminated dozens of terrorists in precision airstrikes under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1, targeting criminal elements responsible for recent attacks in Niger State.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Friday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, in Abuja.

According to Ejodame, the successful operations were carried out between June 24 and June 26, following credible intelligence reports that pinpointed the locations of armed groups terrorising local communities.

“The air component executed multiple waves of precision strikes that neutralised scores of terrorists, destroyed their logistics, and disrupted regrouping efforts,” Ejodame disclosed.

The strikes specifically targeted Kakihun and Kumbashi communities, areas recently plagued by terrorist activities and cattle rustling incidents.

Ejodame noted that the success of the operation was made possible through inter-service and inter-agency collaboration, which facilitated effective identification and engagement of the targets.

“The operation demonstrated NAF’s professionalism, rapid response capability, and strong coordination with ground forces and other agencies,” he said.

The Air Force spokesperson reaffirmed the force’s commitment to defending Nigerians across the country.

“The Nigerian Air Force remains resolutely committed to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians and ensuring lasting peace across the country,” Ejodame added.
