The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched decisive airstrikes on Arra, a notorious terrorist hideout deep inside the Sambisa forest, following intelligence that linked the location to recent insurgent activity.
The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai executed the attack after a directive from the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.
Naijaonpoint reports that the development was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday, November 19, by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
Ejodame said the assault was the outcome of a series of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions that monitored terrorist movements in the aftermath of the October 17 ambush at Kashomri.
He explained that persistent surveillance over Kashomri and the wider Sambisa axis revealed “suspicious terrorist activity” and the existence of active logistics and command structures at Arra.
“Based on this intelligence, NAF aircraft engaged the designated targets through coordinated and successive attack runs,” he said.
According to the Air Force spokesman, all identified targets at the Arra location were successfully destroyed. He added that the operation significantly degraded the terrorists’ operational capability.
“The strikes destroyed identified structures, disrupted their command systems, and dismantled their logistics network,” Ejodame stated.
Ejodame said the mission reflects the Air Force’s continued resolve to protect the nation and support ground troops across all theatres of operation.
He added that the NAF remains committed to neutralising threats and advancing peace nationwide.
“The Air Force will continue to neutralise threats, defend Nigeria’s territory, and support ongoing efforts to secure lasting peace,” Ejodame noted.
