A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Musa Gude, has disclosed that he appointed 106 aides to assist in carrying out his legislative responsibilities and in “serving his constituents.”

Gude, who represents the Uke/Karshi constituency under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform, revealed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia, the state capital, on Tuesday.

According to him, the appointments were not just for service delivery but also to enhance the welfare of the aides and their families.

“I want to disclose that I have 106 aides on my payroll, including special and personal assistants. Some of them receive ₦100,000, ₦80,000, ₦50,000, ₦30,000, ₦20,000, and ₦10,000, respectively,” he said.

Gude explained that the decision was part of his commitment to inclusive leadership and socioeconomic empowerment within his constituency.

He said his aides were selected from across different wards to ensure wider representation and participation in governance.

“This is my way of giving back and ensuring that more people are carried along in the affairs of our constituency,” he added.

The lawmaker also highlighted some of his constituency projects, including the provision of boreholes and payment of senior secondary certificate examination (SSCE) fees for numerous students.

“I have done my best in health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and other areas. I have also empowered many constituents to enable them to become self-reliant,” he said.

While assuring his constituents of quality representation at the state legislature, Gude urged them to continue to live peacefully despite their differences.
