Nasarawa speaker donates N1m to NANS, harps on peace, unity

Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has donated the sum of N1million to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)

 Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has donated the sum of N1million to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)

The Speaker, who announced the donation when the officials of NANS visited him on Thursday in Lafia, urged them to be advocates of peace and unity.

Jatau underscored the role of the association in preaching peace to the students across Nigeria.

He appreciated them for the visit and assured them of his support for the association at all times.

” We are also relying on you for peace, progress and development of the country.

” It is because of this that I want to call on you to continue to preach the gospel of peace. What we need is peace, “he said.

He called on the students to shun all negative acts capable of affecting their education and future.

Earlier, Mr  Olushola Ladoja, the President, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS),  said that the visit was to appreciate the speaker for his purposeful leadership and support for students.

He said that the visit was also to sympathise with the Speaker over the death of his sister, Hajaratu.

” Mr Speaker, we are proud of you because you are doing well in the House,” he said.

The president assured the Jatau of NANS prayers and support to him and the government of  Nasarawa State to succeed.
