NASD Index Rises 0.10% to 3,248.00 Points

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange made a 0.10 per cent growth on Friday, May 30, pushing the Unlisted Security Index (NSI) higher by 3.29 points to 3,248.00 points from the previous session’s 3,244.71 points.

In the same vein, the market capitalisation of the trading platform went up by N1.92 billion during the session to N1.901 trillion from the N1.899 trillion quoted at the preceding session.

The unlisted securities market witnessed a decline in the level of activity yesterday despite the growth recorded at the close of transactions., with the number of deals falling by 47.4 per cent to 10 deals from the 19 deals completed a day earlier.

Also, the volume of transactions in the session was down by 92.8 per cent to 84,808 units from the 1.17 million units posted in the previous trading day and the value of securities depreciated by 86.0 per cent to N1.3 million from N9.05  million.

When trading activities ended, Impresit Bakolori Plc was the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 536.9 million units worth N524.8 million, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.1 million units traded for N4.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc with 268.2 million units sold for N475.1 million.

Okitipupa Plc closed the day as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 153.6 million units for N4.9 billion, trailed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.1 million units worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 37.9 million units valued at N1.5 billion.

Afriland Properties Plc gained N1.75 to close at N19.25 per unit compared with the previous closing value of N17.50 per unit and Geo-Fluids Plc added 24 Kobo to its value to settle at N2.64 per share, in contrast to the N2.40 per unit it was sold on Thursday.

On the flip side, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) lost 30 Kobo to trade at N26.80 per unit versus the preceding day’s N27.10 per unit.
