The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 1.88 per cent appreciation in Week 31, extending its bullish run to the fourth straight trading week.
In the week, the market capitalisation increased by N490 billion to close at N2.167 trillion compared with the preceding week’s N2.127 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) expanded by 67.88 points to settle at 3,701.67 points, in contrast to the 3,633.79 points in Week 30.
According to data from the bourse, there were five price gainers and five price losers, reflecting a flat market breadth index.
Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc grew by 21.3 per cent to N60.00 per share from N49.47 per share, Food Concepts Plc appreciated by 2.9 per cent to N3.14 per unit from N3.05 per unit, Geo-Fluids Plc gained 2.6 per cent to close at N4.71 per share versus N4.59 per share, Okitipupa Plc increased by 1.7 per cent to N238.50 per unit from N234.50 per unit, and Nipco Plc jumped by 0.4 per cent to N241.00 per share from N240.00 per share.
On the flip side, NASD Plc fell by 9.8 per cent to N29.98 per unit from N33.25 per unit, 11 Plc depreciated by 9.4 per cent to N230.42 per share from N254.32 per share, Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) Plc lost 5.8 per cent to finish at N2.90 per unit versus N3.08 per unit, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc slipped by 4.7 per cent to N70.38 per share from N73.84 per share, and First Trust Mortgage Bank Plc slid by 1.6 per cent to 62 Kobo per unit from 63 Kobo per unit.
At the close of business for the week, the value of transactions went down by 99.6 per cent to N131.0 million from N559.6 million, the volume of trades decreased by 76.6 per cent to 6.03 million units from 1.4 billion units, and the number of deals shrank by 19.74 per cent to 183 deals from 228 deals.
The most active stock by value for the week was FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with N45.4 million, Okitipupa Plc traded N28.8 million, Geo-Fluids Plc recorded N20.6 million, CSCS Plc posted N16.3 million, and Nipco Plc reported N10.9 million.
In terms of volume, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc also led with 45.4 million units, Okitipupa Plc exchanged 28.8 million units, Geo-Fluids Plc traded 20.6 million units, CSCS Plc quoted 16.4 million units, and Food Concepts Plc traded 1.02 million units.
