The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its presence in the positive territory on Wednesday, June 4, with a 0.75 per cent appreciation.
During the trading day, the market capitalisation of the platform increased by N14.3 billion to close at N1.927.74 trillion compared with the previous day’s N1.913 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up by 24.42 points to 3,292.19 points from the previous session’s 3,267.77 points.
Data from the alternative stock exchange showed that two securities ended on the advancers’ table, with FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc leading after its value grew by N6.66 to quote at N73.26 per unit versus Tuesday’s closing price of N66.60 per unit, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc appreciated by N2.25 to settle at N26.84 per share, in contrast to the preceding day’s N24.59 per share.
Conversely, the share price of Okitipupa Plc went down at midweek by N20.00 to finish at N220.00 per unit compared with the N240.00 per unit it was traded a day earlier.
At the market yesterday, the volume of securities traded by investors decreased by 65.2 per cent to 434,892 units from the 1.2 million units recorded a day earlier, the value of securities contracted by 19.3 per cent to N18.5 million from N22.9 million, and the number of deals dropped by 17.5 per cent to 33 deals from the 40 deals executed in the previous trading session.
At the close of business, Impresit Bakolori Plc remained the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 536.9 million units valued at N524.7 million, trailed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.1 million sold for N4.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc with 268.3 million units worth N475.2 million.
Okitipupa Plc also remained as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 153.7 million units sold for N4.9 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.1 million worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 38.5 million units traded for N1.5 billion.
