NASD OTC Extends Loss by 0.62%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its loss by 0.62 per cent on Friday, September 12, with the market capitalisation dipping by N13.38 billion to close at N2.135 trillion, in contrast to the previous day’s N2.149 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) depreciated by 22.37 points to 3,569.95 points from 3,592.32 points.

During the trading day, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc lost N1.14 to end at N64.86 per unit compared with the previous day’s N66.00 per unit, Food Concepts Plc dropped 38 Kobo to close at N3.47 per share versus Thursday’s N3.85 per share, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc declined by 6 Kobo to finish at 54 Kobo per unit, in contrast to the preceding session’s 60 Kobo per unit.

Yesterday, the volume of securities recorded went up by 1,592.4 per cent to 1.6 million units from the previous 131,917 units, the value of securities increased by 8.3 per cent to N3.9 million from N3.1 million, and the number of deals went south by 60 per cent to 24 deals from 15 deals.

Okitipupa Plc ended the day as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 158.7 million units valued at N5.9 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 44.7 million units transacted for N1.9 billion.

Also, IGI Plc was the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units sold for N418.4 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units traded for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion.
