Bayer Leverkusen forward Nathan Tella has pulled out of the Super Eagles squad preparing to face Rwanda and Zimbabwe later this month, Soccernet.ng reports.

Tella had been named in the final 23-man Super Eagles roster released on Tuesday ahead of the two crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

However, Tella did not make it off the bench as Bayer Leverkusen lost 0-2 against Bayern Munich in their Champions League Round of 16 clash on Tuesday.

It has now been confirmed that the 25-year-old forward is injured and will be unavailable for Nigeria over the international break.

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has moved quickly to address Tella’s injury. The Franco-Malian tactician has called up Gent defender Jordan Torunarigha as Tella’s replacement.
