National Grid Didn’t Collapse – TCN Explains What Happened

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has debunked reports that the National Grid suffered its first collapse of 2025 on Saturday, 11th January.

A statement signed by the TCN Public Affairs Manager, Ndidi Mbah, and made available to Naijaonpoint on Saturday, said what was incorrectly described as a grid collapse was actually a tripping of the Osogbo-Ihovbor and Benin-Omotosho lines, which only impacted the bulk supply to the Lagos area.
