The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has successfully graduated approximately 300 youths from its two-month Technical Skills Training Programme, organized by the Department of Commercial and Industrial Development.
The programme provided practical training in pipe fitting, scaffolding, sandblasting, pipe coating, and forklift operations, equipping participants with skills to secure employment and build sustainable careers.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Dr. Victor Antai, Executive Director, Projects, representing the NDDC Managing Director and CEO, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, emphasized that the initiative aims to create jobs and reduce crime in the Niger Delta region. He noted that the programme aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and assured that graduates will receive follow-up mentorship and opportunities to further enhance their skills.
In a goodwill message, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Executive Director, Corporate Services, congratulated the participants and encouraged them to apply their skills productively, generate wealth, and contribute to the development of their communities.
