WATCH THE VIDEO HERE The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has raised an alarm warning over the emerging threat posed by the Lakurawa terrorist group, now active in Nigeria’s northwest, particularly in Sokoto and Kebbi states. Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the ACF’s publicity secretary, expressed the group’s concerns on Monday while speaking on Channels Television. He lamented that the terrorist group has established operational bases and is even taking over local governance in some areas, enforcing their own justice system in defiance of traditional authorities. Muhammad-Baba warned that the group’s growing influence threatens national security and called for decisive action to protect sovereignty and restore order. His words: “They are not a new group; the DSS is aware of them. We thought they had been chased out, but we later found out that it was a deal that they should either leave or be attacked. “This is a major threat to national security. When you have a group like that coming into the country and establishing bases, putting in place our security and justice administrator system, it is like they’ve taken over sovereignty.”
