Kendrick Lamar was chosen to perform at this years Superbowl of the success of the defamatory Drake “diss” track. But yesterday, Drake filed a blockbuster federal defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group, that may have put an end to the songs success.

As Media Take Out has been reported, Drake hired one of the best law firms in the country, Willkie Farr & Gallagher. Willkie’s lawyer Michael Gottlieb is responsible for filing and winning a  $148.1 million verdict against Rudy Giuliani for defaming former Georgia elections.

Media Take Out’s legal analysts reviewed Drake’s lawsuit, and have learned two things. One, despite what you’ve been reading on social media, the lawsuit has a very high chance of winning a HUGE verdict. And second, the lawsuit was filed in a way that allows Drake to easily add the National Football League, or anyone else that plays the song publicly, to the suit.

Lawyers at the National Football League have been scrambling to determine whether to allow Kendrick to perform the defamatory song to hundreds of millions of people, and possibly subject the league to billions in damages.

Well the League has responded. Media Take Out learned that yesterday, members of the National Football League reached out to Kendrick’s team, and requested that he NOT play his hit song during the halftime show.

The official reason Kendrick’s team were given is that the League doesn’t want the performance to “overshadow” the game. But we’re told that potential legal exposure played a big part in the NFLs decision.

It’s not clear what this means, yet. It’s also not clear whether Kendrick plans to comply with the League’s request.
