During a recent episode of his podcast, Nick Cannon at Night, the entertainer opened up about a time when he committed to celibacy as part of a spiritual journey.
“I tried it for a year and a half when I was young,” Cannon said, explaining that the decision stemmed from the way he was raised. “When you grow up in a Christian setting and fornication is bad and all of that stuff, it felt like the right thing.”
Cannon went on to clarify that his goal was to wait until marriage with a partner he believed shared the same values. “The plan was like, ‘I found my person and we’re going to wait,’” he said. “And then she cheated on me.”
That experience, he admitted with humor, ended the experiment. Joking with guest Dr. Dow, Cannon added, “I ain’t been selling it since, Doc. I’ve been out here.”
The comedian’s dating life later took a very public turn. Cannon shares 14-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with ex-wife Mariah Carey, along with ten other children with several partners.
