American rapper Nicki Minaj has publicly accused fellow rapper and business mogul Jay-Z of owing her up to $200 million over her share in the music streaming service, Tidal.

Naijaonpoint reports that Nicki Minaj made the allegations on Tuesday, July 8.

She expressed frustration over the unpaid debt linked to her equity in the company.

Back in 2015, Minaj was among the group of artistes including Beyoncé, Rihanna, J. Cole and Ye who received a 3% stake in Tidal when it launched, reportedly valued at $56 million at the time.

In 2021, Tidal was sold to Square, a company owned by Jack Dorsey, for $302 million.

Despite the sale, Minaj claimed she and the other original stakeholders kept their shares.

She revealed that she was offered only $1 million for her share, which she said is far less than the $9 million it should have been worth, based on the sale price.

Minaj alleged that the total owed to her may now range between $100 million and $200 million and warned that the amount would continue to grow if left unpaid.

She insisted that Jay-Z should contact her to resolve what she called a “karmic debt.”

She also mocked those who refer to him as “Hov,” claiming such titles are inappropriate.

The rapper said if the debt is paid, she would use the funds to support her fans, especially by sponsoring their education through her charity, Student Of The Game.

She tweeted: “We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest. You still in my TOP 5 tho. Let’s get it nigga. And anyone still calling him Hov will answer to God for the blasphemy.

“I’m going to use some of the money #JayZ owes me to send some of my Barbz to college, pay their school fees & student loans via my #StudentOfTheGame charity.”

Jay Z is yet to react to the allegations.
