Nicki Minaj has settled a long-running legal dispute just hours before a court was set to issue a final judgment over unpaid damages tied to a lawsuit from a former employee.
During a hearing on Jan. 22, a judge confirmed that the judgment had been fully satisfied, preventing Minaj’s Hidden Hills home from being placed on the market.
The case stemmed from a 2019 incident in Germany involving Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, and her former security guard, Thomas Weidenmuller. Weidenmuller was awarded $503,318.02 in the civil case.
Weidenmuller’s attorney, Paul Saso, told TMZ his client felt relieved after years of legal back and forth. “He is incredibly gratified and happy,” Saso said. “It’s been a long time coming to have justice finally be done here.”
Saso added that enforcing the judgment was a drawn-out process. “Not only did it take years to achieve the judgment, but it took nearly two years to enforce that judgment,” he said.
The rapper has not commented publicly on the payment, but the resolution ensures the case will not proceed further in court.
