Niger govt receives 53,182 Applications for advertised civil service jobs

Niger state government said it received 53,182 applications in its recent call for applications into the civil service.

The Commissioner of Communication and Economy, Isah Suleiman disclosed this in a radio programme monitored by The Nation.

According to him, there were about 1,608 multiple applicants while 2,565 of the applicants were discovered to have been employed somewhere else.

Suleiman said that 5,495 applications were received for the health categories and 47,634 for other categories while 160 people living with disabilities were among the applicants.

“We had 31,498 applicants from Zone A, 13,837 applicants from Zone B, and 7,793 applicants from Zone C.

8,467 applied from Bida local government making it the local government area with the highest number of applicants while Ageara local government area had the lowest number of applicants with 239 applicants,” he said.

The Commissioner assured residents of fairness in the recruitment process.The second stage of the recruitment process began on Sunday with the applicants given time and day when to log into the website and take the computer-based test which is to answer 50 questions in 35 minutes.

The applicants have been warned that no extra time would be granted and advised to have adequate Internet access.

The system, according to the Commissioner, will automatically log the applicants out and score them once their time is up.

The computer-based test is expected to end on Thursday, 29th February by noon.
