Niger set to establish $200 CNG plant in Lambata

.. Approves over N1.3 Billion for over 23,000 School Furniture

AS part of plans to stimulate economic growth in the state, Niger state government has announced plans to establish a $200 million Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) plant in Lambata, Gurara local government area of the state.

Speaking during a post Executive Council briefing in Minna, the Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Alhaji Aminu Suleiman Takuma, said the government has entered into multiple partnerships to stimulate economic growth in the state.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hamza Sarki Bello, the Commissioner said “with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the establishment of a $200 million Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) plant in Lambata is expected to commence soon”.

He also disclosed that, there are plans to resuscitate the moribund Niger Fertilizer Company to enhance agricultural productivity across the state.

Also, state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Binta Mamman disclosed that the Government has approved over N1.3 billion for the procurement of 23,300 specially designed chairs for primary and secondary schools across the state.

She explained that the chairs are specially made to meet the needs of pupils and students in public schools alone.

She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to transparent and timely communication of government’s policies and programmes to the public.
