WATCH THE VIDEO HERE At least seven people lost their lives while sixteen others sustained various degrees of injuries in a tragic truck accident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday at the Essa community along the Agaie-Badeggi Road in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State. The Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Abdullahi Baba-Arah, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday. He said the ill-fated truck was transporting grains allocated by the Federal Government. It was also carrying 36 male passengers, all reportedly en route to Kano from Lagos. The accident, which took place around 3:00 a.m., was attributed to the deplorable condition of certain portions of the Lambata-Bida road, particularly those yet to be reconstructed. The poor road condition is believed to have contributed significantly to the mishap.
