Nigeria’s Falconets produced another dazzling display on Sunday morning as they cruised to a 3–0 victory over hosts Benin Republic at the Stade Omnisports d’Adjohoun, tightening their hold at the top of the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup table, Soccernet.ng reports.
Barely 24 hours after dispatching defending champions Ghana 3–1, the Falconets showed no sign of fatigue.
Against a Benin side buoyed by a noisy home crowd, the Nigerian girls remained composed, clinical, and far superior in every department.
Kareem Ramotalahi was the star of the show, netting a brace before Precious Oscar completed the rout deep into injury time. The result leaves Nigeria comfortably on six points from two matches, ahead of Ghana on three, while Benin remain pointless after consecutive defeats.
The round-robin format of the tournament means each of the three teams – Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin – willl face one another twice. But even at this early stage, the Falconets have established themselves as clear favourites to lift the trophy.

Falconets: Ramotalahi double lights up Stade Omnisports
Benin began with intensity, pressing high and seeking to capitalise on Nigeria’s tired legs after two games in as many days. Yet the Falconets held firm, dictated possession, and looked dangerous whenever they advanced into the final third.
There was no sign of fatigue among the Falconets when Ramotalahi opened the scoring in the 15th minute. The skilful forward displayed excellent close control to glide past her marker before lofting a beautiful finish over the goalkeeper into the top corner.
Benin fought bravely to stay in contention, but Nigeria’s superior fitness and tactical organisation soon told.
On the hour mark, Ramotalahi struck again, this time racing down the right, cutting inside, and firing a low shot past the onrushing goalkeeper to make it 2–0.
From then on, there was no way back for the hosts. Nigeria managed the game smartly, keeping possession and frustrating Benin’s attempts to respond. In stoppage time, Precious Oscar sealed the win with a crisp effort from just inside the box after Benin failed to clear a corner.
The Falconets’ back-to-back wins over Ghana and Benin place them in good position to lift the trophy for the first time. Moses Aduku‘s team will next face Ghana again on Tuesday before rounding off the group phase against Benin on Wednesday.
With their fluid attack, resolute defending, and sharp finishing, the Falconets look every inch a side destined to claim their first WAFU B title.
