SENATE President Godswill Akpabio has appealed to Nigerians to remain patient as President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms take root, assuring that the policies are already yielding positive results.
In his Independence Day message to mark Nigeria’s 65th anniversary, Akpabio congratulated citizens for their resilience and encouraged unity in the face of ongoing economic challenges.
“At 65, Nigeria is matured and should be working for unity and prosperity,” he said, commending Nigerians for their endurance over the past two years.
“We are not unaware of the pains caused by the reforms, but I assure you they are temporary. The benefits are beginning to manifest, and soon the discomfort will be a thing of the past.”
He aligned his message with the theme of this year’s celebrations, “All hands are on deck for a greater Nigeria,” urging collective support for the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Akpabio also congratulated President Tinubu for his commitment to peace and development, while praising the National Assembly, judiciary, and Nigerians both at home and abroad for their contributions to nation-building.
“I must tell you that Nigeria is not finished. Do not buy into the mischievous narrative that the country is irredeemable. We are on the right path, and if we continue working together, Nigeria will surely reach the promised land,” he affirmed.
