Nigeria and Canada have finalised a Code-sharing Agreement under a new Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA).

The announcement was made on Friday by Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, through a statement on his official X account, said the deal is aimed at facilitating air connectivity and passenger convenience between the two countries.

The agreement will enable airlines from Nigeria and Canada to collaborate on flight routes, creating a more integrated travel network between the two countries
Keyamo stated that he had signed the agreement on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during a formal signing ceremony in Abuja on Friday.

His Canadian counterpart had previously signed the document in Ottawa earlier in the month and transmitted it through the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Pasquale Salvaggio, who represented Canada at the event.
