Reality TV star Jackye Madu has condemned Ibom Air over the recent viral incident involving passenger Comfort Emmanson, calling for legal action against the airline.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate expressed outrage at what she described as the mishandling of the passenger, stating that the treatment was influenced by gender bias.

Naijaonpoint reports that she alleged that Comfort was manhandled simply because she is a woman, saying that the men who intervened made no effort to calm the situation.

She criticised the person who recorded and shared the footage online, which exposed the passenger’s breasts, describing the act as unacceptable.

Madu also compared the incident to past cases, pointing to an assault on a female captain by musician Kwam 1, where she claimed consequences were only enforced after public pressure.

Madu insisted that the airline and those responsible for filming and circulating the video must be held accountable for their actions.

She wrote: “I hope Comfort sues Ibom air into bankruptcy. Foolish airline, foolish employees and foolish people supporting the airline for such actions.

“Nigeria is not kind to women, kwam 1 assaults a female captain, the captain gets her license suspended, if not for public cry, kwam 1 would not have been sanctioned.

“The only reason Comfort was manhandled is because she is a woman. At no point did the men who came in try to de-escalate the situation.

“And whoever recorded that girl and posted her exposed breast, may the heavens and the earth work against you.”
