WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Mowe in Ogun State became a hub of activity on Tuesday, June 25, when students from twelve secondary schools in the area gathered at Additional Plus Sports and Education Initiative (APSEP) in Pakuro to learn basketball techniques and skills. Tagged: Game Changer, Leadership through Basketball. The event is the initiative of the Commonwealth Sports changer programme in collaboration with Nigeria Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Nigeria. The Secretary-General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Tunde Poopola, emphasised that “the objective of the programme is to provide opportunity to the students in Mowe on the importance of sport and Education to youth development. The lead organizer, Mrs. Seun Narowoh, highlighted that the purpose of the event was to identify, nurture, and develop basketball talents. She also mentioned that the event provided a platform for students from different schools to meet, interact, and exchange ideas, benefiting their future endeavors in both sports and academics. Austin Odigie, the Project Coordinator of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, also spoke at the event. He stated that the goal of the event was to prepare talents for the next Commonwealth Games. He explained that the talent hunt spans various sports and communities across the country, providing an opportunity to identify and develop hidden talents for future local and international sporting events. He noted that the event was initiated by the Commonwealth Games board. The students enjoyed good music, lectures, and basketball lessons. All participants received certificates of participation.
