The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has reacted to reports that it has declared Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo wanted.
Taking to their official Instagram page, the police office described the news as fake and made it known that the wanted poster of Iyabo didn’t emanate from their Force.
NPF said the report is false and misleading and was never posted on their official platform. The police force urged Nigerians to disregard and stop spreading fake news and to verify only from official NPF channels.

Days after her daughter’s white wedding in Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) invited Iyabo to question her about the spraying of money at her daughter’s wedding. She claimed the commission showed her videos extracted from her daughter’s wedding, where guests were spraying naira and foreign currencies, and she was asked if she knew it was illegal. Ojo said she explained that she thought only abuse or mutilation of the Naira was an offence, and the commission enlightened her.
Last month was a tough time for Iyabo as her office building caught fire. Sharing a video of the incident, she expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Fire Service and her staff for salvaging what was left. She also thanked her creator, as no lives were lost. Iyabo noted how the devil tested them, but God said no.
While dealing with the fire incident, some men had taken to the streets of Lagos, chanting “E no go better for Iyabo Ojo” in response to Mohbad’s incident.
Addressing them, in an Instagram post, Iyabo said she never affirmed that Mohbad’s death was caused by any specific individual. Iyabo noted how certain individuals have, over the years, consistently called for her death, the destruction of her source of livelihood and have engaged in public violence against her and her children without any intervention from the authorities. She revealed that a few days before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, she was sent a letter threatening her life at her office.
