The Super Falcons of Nigeria will begin their hunt for a tenth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title on Sunday, when they take on their North African counterparts Tunisia at Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria head into the fixture as bang on favourites due to their superior pedigree and player quality.

However, the Carthage Eagles will be hoping that they can conjure an upset, especially as they are on North African soil and will likely have the support of the home crowd.

Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu is expected to be bullish with his selection on Sunday, as they are expected to win.

In this article Soccernet.ng will spotlight five players who could be the difference makers for the Super Falcons on Sunday.

1. Rasheedat Ajibade

The former Atletico Madrid Femeni attacker has been the most important player in attack for the Super Falcons since last year. She is quick, tricky and tireless.

Ajibade has scored twice in her last three games for Nigeria, and she will be looking to take that form into the WAFCON. She is the captain of the team, and it is expected that she will lead by example.

2. Chiamaka Nnadozie

The new Brighton goalie has owned the goalkeeper position for Nigeria over the last three years. Nnadozie has proven to be a very reliable player even on the Super Falcons’ bad days.

Against Nigeria, Tunisia will not get a lot of opportunities. But even if they do, they can bank on Nnadozie to man the sticks and keep them out.

3. Toni Payne

Toni Payne is another Super Falcons star who can deliver the goods. Primarily a winger, she can function as an attacking midfielder.

Payne has been one of the more consistent players for Nigeria in recent years. She has an eye for the pass, can be rugged when she has to,. Payne is arguably one of the smartest Super Falcons players on the ball.

Coach Madugu can definitely count on her to deliver the goods.

4. Osinachi Ohale

Ohale is one of the more experienced players on the team. The 33-year-old center-back is not as quick as before, but her experience will make up for that as she has played at multiple AFCONs and the FIFA World Cup.

The is also the leader at the back and will look to coordinate her back four with a strong hand to prevent any slip-ups.

5. Christy Ucheibe

The Benfica star is one of the most talented players on Nigeria’s roster. She is a smart and tireless worker in the middle of the park.

Ucheibe will be the player who connects the defence to the attack. She can also make one attacking forays herself. With her in midfield, Nigeria will surely have an edge.
