All eyes are on the Complexe Sportif de Fès tonight for the Nigeria vs Tunisia clash as the Super Eagles  face the North Africans in a crucial Group C encounter at the AFCON 2025.

With both sides arriving on three points from their opening fixtures, this clash has all the ingredients of a potential group-defining showdown.

Nigeria came into the game riding on the confidence of a hard-fought win over Tanzania, which steadied the ship for Eric Chelle’s team.

The Super Eagles know another victory tonight would place them firmly on course for the Round of 16 and ease the pressure ahead of their final group match.

Tunisia, however, presents a familiar and dangerous obstacle. The Carthage Eagles impressed in their opening win against Uganda and remain a side capable of punishing lapses in concentration. This was a lesson Nigeria learnt the hard way at AFCON 2021.

In the Nigerian camp, focus has been the dominant theme. Midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, as earlier reported by Soccernet, summed up the mood in camp and stressed the need to approach every game with the same intensity as always.

Nigeria vs Tunisia: Head-to-head

Nigeria and Tunisia share a long and competitive rivalry, both at the Africa Cup of Nations and beyond.

The Super Eagles have won three of their last ten meetings with the Carthage Eagles, including memorable AFCON victories in 2000 and 2006.

However, Tunisia edged Nigeria 1–0 in the Round of 16 at AFCON 2021 in Garoua—a result that ended Nigeria’s perfect group-stage run under Austine Eguavoen.

Across their last ten meetings, Tunisia have recorded three wins, Nigeria three, while four encounters ended in draws — underlining how evenly matched both sides have been.
