Nigerian commissioner who was reportedly caught with married woman inside uncompleted building speaks

Anwalu Danlladi, the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties has dismissed the allegations of engaging in illicit sexual affairs, describing the claims as a politically motivated witch hunt orchestrated by unnamed adversaries.

NaijaOnPoint.com.ng (NOP) recalls that the commissioner was nabbed and detained by the Kano State Hisbah Board for allegedly engaging in an extramarital affair with a married woman, Tasleem Baba Nabegu.

The Director-General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Alhaji Abba Saidu Sufi, also confirmed Sankara’s arrest, stating that it was part of an investigation into the claims made against him.

“Yes, I can confirm that Sankara was arrested at a hidden location along Lamido Crescent Road. He is now at Kurmawa prison. It is an unfortunate incident,” Sufi stated.

However, in a statement released on Friday night, Sankara refuted the accusations, asserting that they were baseless and designed to tarnish his reputation.

The statement read, “My attention has been drawn to a recent media report alleging that I, Auwal D. Sankara, Commissioner for Special Duties in the Jigawa State Government, have been arrested by the Kano Hisbah Command on charges of having an affair with a married woman.

“I wish to categorically state that these allegations are entirely false, baseless, and malicious, aimed at tarnishing my reputation. I urge the general public to disregard this fabricated story, which has been concocted by certain political elements to damage my character and integrity.

“As a married man, I have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage and would never engage in actions that violate its sanctity. I remain committed to upholding the values and principles that I stand for.

“I am taking this matter seriously and will pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading this false information and attempting to cause harm to my person.”
