Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior has finally spoken out about his alleged relationship with a woman who accused him of neglecting their child.

In a sworn statement submitted to the court, Mutula admitted that he once paid Sh150,000 to a woman identified as Victoria Ndunge Musyoka to terminate a pregnancy. However, she later carried the pregnancy to term and claimed he was the father.

The governor said he was shocked when Victoria delivered the baby despite their prior agreement. He further alleged that the child was later found to closely resemble another man who had been in a long-term relationship with Victoria.

According to court documents, the two became embroiled in a bitter child support dispute after Mutula reportedly stopped providing upkeep for the now three-year-old girl.

Mutula accused Victoria of using the child to extort money from him and tarnish his image through false and misleading posts on social media.

In his affidavit, the governor stated that some of Victoria’s family members privately admitted that the child was not his. They allegedly shared electronic and written evidence showing that another man was the real father.

Mutula also disputed the timeline of the pregnancy, saying the baby was born only 24 weeks after their last meeting — far too soon for him to be the biological father. “It was impossible for me to be the father,” he maintained, adding that a full-term pregnancy lasts 40 weeks.

His lawyer and sister, Kethi Kilonzo, backed the claim, noting that Victoria had failed to produce medical records or consent to a DNA test to confirm paternity.

Court papers also reveal that the baby, born on May 4, 2013, at Nairobi Hospital, was first brought to Mutula’s attention through a text message he received while attending his late father’s funeral.
