The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange appreciated by 0.91 per cent on Tuesday, July 1 after three equities on the platform ended in green.
At the second trading session of the week and first for the month of July, the price of 11 Plc went up by N23.12 to N254.32 per share from N231.20 per share, Nipco Plc improved by N17.81 to N244.83 per unit from N227.02 per unit and Food Concepts Plc expanded by 23 Kobo to N2.57 per share from N2.34 per share.
Consequently, the market capitalisation of the bourse jumped by N17.77 billion to close at N1.977 trillion compared with the previous day’s N1.96 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up by 30.36 points to settle at 3,379.79 points compared with the 3,347.43 points it ended on Monday.
During the session the volume of securities traded by investors decreased by 80.4 per cent to 166,176 units from 846,042 units, the value of securities declined by 59.5 per cent to N6.5 million from N16.1 million, and the number of deals slid by 42.4 per cent to 19 deals from 33 deals.
At the close of business, Impresit Bakolori Plc was the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 536.9 million units valued at N524.8 million, trailed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units worth N4.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc with 268.5 million units traded for N475.9 million.
Okitipupa Plc was also the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 153.8 million units sold for N4.9 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 41.0 million units valued at N1.7 billion.
