The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has announced a 15 percent reduction in logistics costs for more than 20,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) registered with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).
Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja during the 2025 World Post Day celebration, themed “Post for People: Local Service, Global Reach.”
Odeyemi said the initiative is part of NIPOST’s efforts to support small businesses, strengthen trade logistics, and align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda for inclusive economic growth.
“MSMEs are the backbone of Nigeria’s economy, contributing over 48 percent to the GDP. By offering a 15 percent logistics discount in partnership with SMEDAN, we are helping over 20,000 MSMEs cut costs, access wider markets, and compete more effectively in the digital economy,” she stated.
She also announced the launch of the NIPOST Digital Market Place, an e-commerce platform designed to connect Nigerian entrepreneurs with local and international customers.
