Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, group chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, says the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) company is playing a central role in advancing Nigeria’s energy transition and economic stability.
Ojulari stated this during a visit to the NLNG plant in Bonny, Rivers state, on Thursday.
He said NNPC Ltd., as a major shareholder in NLNG, is committed to driving long-term growth and expansion of the company.
Ojulari said the energy company is also exploring opportunities to invest in clean energy infrastructure in line with global net-zero targets.
Describing NLNG’s Train 7 project as “strategically important”, the NNPC boss said it would increase Nigeria’s export capacity, create thousands of jobs and strengthen the country’s global competitiveness in the liquefied natural gas market.
He also praised NLNG’s corporate governance structure and focus on sustainability, calling them “a model of operational excellence and a source of national pride.”
“NLNG’s contributions to Nigeria’s energy landscape and economic development are immense.
“As we work toward a sustainable and competitive future, NNPC Ltd. remains dedicated to supporting NLNG’s growth and its pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s energy sector,” Ojulari said.
