Marvel confirms it is not headed for a reboot, debunking a theory circulating among the fandom following the announcement of 2026’s ARMAGEDDON event series. Author Chip Zdarsky is at the helm of what is meant to be a paradigm-shifting event for the Avengers and the rest of the Marvel Universe, and he reassured readers it won’t be a canon reset.
In an interview with ComicPop Returns, Zdarsky frankly acknowledge the rumors, saying “Marvel is extremely proud of the fact that they’ve never rebooted,” and that fans should expect things to stay that way.
Nevertheless, ARMAGEDDON is intended to shake the foundation of the Marvel Universe, it just won’t lay a new one.
