The co-founder of#BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has described the 2027 general elections as a decisive opportunity for Nigerians to fight for their survival.
Yesufu cautioned citizens against expecting miracles or external intervention ahead of the polls, stressing that no one is coming to rescue the country.
In a post on X, she urged Nigerians to take full responsibility for the nation’s future, insisting that the task of fixing the country rests squarely on the people.
According to her, what many describe as a “miracle” is simply God granting Nigerians the chance to remain alive and actively participate in choosing their leaders.
She emphasised that citizens must make deliberate and informed political choices rather than shifting responsibility to divine intervention while failing to take action.
Yesufu warned that the struggle for Nigeria’s future is already in motion, describing the 2027 elections as a critical turning point that will shape the country’s direction and survival.
She stated, “In case you missed my New Year message, no one is coming to save us.
“It is we, Nigerians, that will save ourselves.
“The miracle we pray for is God keeping us alive to be part of the decision makers on who the people are that will govern Nigeria.
“The time for decision making is now. We should not abdicate our responsibility to God and refuse to do the needful.
“The 2027 election is Nigerians fighting for their lives and it has already started.”
