Despite billions invested in Nigeria’s power sector, Uba revealed his community suffers blackouts lasting up to three days straight, forcing costly reliance on fuel-powered generators.
Speaking with NAN, he lamented the soaring fuel expenses and admitted, “I don’t have the money to buy fuel for the big generator I have. I am planning to quit this business and look for an alternative where I don’t need electricity.”
Uba’s plight highlights the harsh reality many small business owners face daily, caught between unreliable electricity and the rising cost of survival. Without urgent government intervention, more entrepreneurs like him may be forced to abandon their trades, deepening economic hardship in the Federal Capital Territory.
