WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Nokia, once a big name in the mobile industry, has now launched the world’s first 5G 360-degree 8K camera for industrial use. This camera is perfect for harsh environments and has some amazing features to keep the software and hardware safe for data protection. One of the main highlights of the Nokia 5G 360-degree camera is that it offers 8K streaming with low latency. It is a rugged shock-proof and vibration-resistant camera that also comes with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. This camera also offers high-resolution 360-degree video footage and spatial audio over 5G, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet connection. Besides, it comes with a plug-and-play feature eliminating the need for any complex network configurations. There are two different variants of this camera. The first is the more affordable Wi-Fi variant that offers 8K 360-degree multimedia streaming. On the other hand, the Extreme Temperature variant uses 5G and is suitable for extreme climate conditions. Remember, Nokia markets these cameras as industrial devices, so they won’t be available for regular customers. The company also offers easy and versatile mounting solutions to easily install this camera. Nokia hasn’t disclosed any pricing information, unfortunately, but we’ll get it once the cameras hit the market. Both cameras work with the Nokia Real-time eXtended Reality Multimedia (RXRM) software solution. The RXRM software also delivers 360-degree video and 3D OZO Audio. This allows the camera to be used for remote monitoring, situational awareness, and teleoperation. For the uninitiated, the aforementioned technology is already in action in different industries to improve speed and cost-efficiency. To give you an example, the Finnish company Callio Pyhäjärvi has already deployed the Nokia 360-degree camera in Europe’s deepest Pyhäsalmi Mine. The company is using the camera for research and development as well as remote operations. The General Manager of RXRM, Nokia, speaks about the launch and says, “Nokia RXRM enables industrial customers to optimize their business processes, reducing costs from product support to field operations. With the addition of a 5G-enabled industrial camera, RXRM now provides a complete solution for real-time remote use cases, including situational awareness, remote monitoring, teleoperation, and large-scale sports and entertainment events.”Nokia unveiled the world’s first rugged 8K 360-degree camera with 5G, Wi-Fi & Ethernet connectivity
