Sarah Martins, a popular Nollywood actress, has been hospitalised following a sudden health emergency that caused her to collapse.
The actress disclosed the incident on her Instagram page, revealing that she woke up feeling numb and unable to sense parts of her body, an experience that left her briefly fearing for her life.
Despite the alarming symptoms, Martins said she still forced herself to go to her shop to take inventory and conduct interviews for prospective staff. She reportedly slumped during the exercise and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
According to the actress, doctors carried out more than 30 medical tests, including screenings for cancer, fibroid, kidney and liver function, malaria and typhoid. All the tests returned negative results.
Narrating her ordeal, she wrote: “Woke up today and couldn’t feel any part of my body. For a second, I felt lifeless. I still struggled and went to my stores to do inventory and a few interviews for incoming employees, and that was when I slumped.”
Martins attributed her collapse to extreme exhaustion, explaining that she worked continuously throughout December without taking any break.
“All through December, I worked every single day. Even when my staff travelled for the season celebrations, I kept working. No days off, no rest, just a walking corpse working tirelessly to cater for others, forgetting myself,” she said.
She added that extensive medical examinations showed no underlying illness.
“I did over 32 tests today, and all came out negative — including cancer, fibroid, liver, kidney, malaria, typhoid. I guess God took proper care of my organs while I neglected my body.”
Expressing optimism about her recovery, the actress said she remained hopeful despite being confined to a hospital bed.
“I am typing this from a sick bed, but I will be fine because the God that protects the vulnerable kids I struggle for will never fail me,” she wrote.
