According To Our Reporter, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka has dismissed claims that recent protests during a North-East endorsement event signaled opposition to Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Speaking on January 27, 2026, Morka explained the unrest stemmed from confusion over the event’s focus on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that this did not mean Shettima was being sidelined.
“Protests in the North were based on misunderstanding, not rejection of Shettima,” he said, adding that party leadership swiftly clarified the situation, restoring calm.
Morka rejected rumours of any plans to replace Shettima on the ticket, reminding the public that formal decisions will be made within the party’s legal frameworks when the time is right.
He urged Nigerians and media to rely only on verified party communications, affirming that the APC remains united and focused on its 2027 goals. Watch full report
