WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Sevilla coach Garcia Pimienta believes Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke still has to work on his game despite scoring the only goal in their 1-0 win over Real Sociedad at the real Arena on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports. Ejuke got a surprise start for Sevilla when they traveled to Real Sociedad. Recall that the Super Eagles winger has had to play second fiddle to Ruben Vargas since returning from injury. However, coach Pimienta gave him minutes due to the Swissman’s fitness problems. That decision paid off, as Ejuke turned out to be the difference maker, scoring through a wicked curler in the first minute of the second half to seal the win for Sevilla. After the game, coach Pimienta expressed his happiness with the result. But he believes that Ejuke still has to do more as he is not performing at his optimal level yet. “Unfortunately, Rubén’s hip problems meant he couldn’t participate, he tried even at half-time but it wasn’t possible, he was honourable, he was honest and he tried,” Pimienta said via Sevilla’s website. “That was an opportunity for Ejuke, I think he did very well, he played a very good 65 minutes in terms of play, but also defensively, working for the team. We must try to recover the best version of Ejuke, because we are very happy for him too.” With his goal against Real Sociedad, Chidera Ejuke has made a strong case for himself to regain his place in the starting eleven. However, he must be consistent. A player with his ability should be more creative and create more opportunities for his team in the final third. Vargas has been electric since arriving at the club in January. He has even proven to be more effective. So if he regains his full fitness and Ejuke does not improve on his output in the final third, the Super Eagles star may have to return to the bench for a while.
