Rivers State Deputy Governor Prof Ngozi Nma Odu says there is nothing better than spending quality time in the presence of the Almighty God.

Prof Odu stated this during the Investiture Ceremony of His Lordship, Rt. Rev Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion as Chairman, Spiritual Advisory Council (SAC) of Garden City Hymn-Singing Initiative at St John’s Anglican Church Bishop Johnson street in Port Harcourt, on Sunday 24th November, 2024.

“There could not be anything better than praising and having a very good time in the presence of God. They say when you pray God sends Angels, but when you sing He comes down Himself so God Almighty will come down this evening as we praise and worship Him, as we exalt Him, you are doing what He cannot do for Himself, He cannot praise Himself, and therefore God Almighty would do for us what we cannot do for ourselves”. Prof. Odu stressed.

The Deputy Governor disclosed that the State Chief Executive Sir Siminalayi Fubara is very passionate about all things that pertains to God, stressing that he beliefs without God we would not have been where we are today.

“He supports anything that has to do with exalting God, know that he loves the body of Christ. This Hymn Singing Initiative will continue to blossom, it will continue to grow and your voices will be heard globally. I am proud to be a member of the body of Christ and I exalt the Almighty God for preserving our Governor”. The Deputy Governor quipped.

Prof. Odu commended the Chairman, Spiritual Advisory Council of Garden City Hymn-Singing Initiative Rt . Rev. Oko-Jaja, whom she described as a fearless and committed Minister of God, nothing that the Garden City Hymn-Singing Initiative made the right choice in choosing him as the Chairman, Spiritual Advisory Council.

In his remarks the Chairman of the Advisory Council Rt. Rev, Emmanuel Oko Jaja noted that discipline and commitment to Gods’ will should be foundational as we come to exercise our callings through inspired hymns and songs.

According to him through our songs of praise and worship God will arise and grant us signs, wonders, answer our prayers, restore our economy and also bless the Church, adding that our God is a God of Possibility.

It would be recalled that the event was the Silver Jubilee (25th) Edition of the Garden City Evening of Hymns and the investiture Ceremony of the 6th Chairman of the Spiritual Advisory Council.
