Staff of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) are currently jubilating over the recall of Salihu Dembos as the station’s Director General.
The staff were captured in a video celebrating the return of Dembos at the broadcaster’s headquarters in Abuja, on Wednesday.
They were heard singing “Papa Oyoyo”, a song known to used by children in Nigeria to welcome their fathers when they return home.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had earlier appointed Rotimi Pedro and Stella Din as DG of NTA and executive director of news respectively.
However, in a swift move, the presisent through his special adviser on Information and Strategy announced the recall of Demobos.
According to Onanuga, Dembos was recalled to complete his three-year tenure as NTA DG.
Also recalled by the presisent is Ayo Adewuyi, the Executive Director of News whose tenure is now expected to run until 2027.
