Scores of women from Obele and Ibaa communities in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State on Friday protested to Rimuji Police Division and barricade one side of Rumuji section of East West road.

The protest was led by Loveth Amadi, daugther of John Amadi, the OSPAC member allegedly killed by suspected cultists led by ‘Cairo’ in Obele.

The protesters carried placards with different inscriptions like ‘Arrest Cairo Now, ‘Cairo killed Akpata’ , ‘Justice for Akpata’ among others.

In an interview with Journalists, Loveth the daughter of the killed OSPAC personnel narrated how ‘Cairo’, ‘Oyibo’ in company of other cultists shot her father death while they were pilling cassava in their house in Obele on 4th of November,2024.IMG 20241115 WA0158

Loveth Amadi called on the Police to immediately swing into action and arrest ‘Cairo’, ‘Oyibo’ whom she accused of killing her father in her presence.

The daugther of the killed OSPAC personnel dismissed insinuation that her father was killed by Chinanu Eleonu aka Naked.

Also speaking, Monica Wokeh who says she is the Woman leader of Ibaa community maintained that ‘Naked’ has not and did not kill anybody.
She said “The whole world should know that Chinanu Eleonu is innocent. Nobody should kill him(Naked)”

On his part, Chief Rufus Welekwe the Chief Security Officer(CSO) of Ibaa and Obele communities said “the Naked they are talking about has not killed anybody. He is a gentle man which everybody knows. Without Naked there would be no peace in Ibaa and Obele.

“It is the handiwork of Naked that made both men and women to stay home in Obele and Ibaa and do their farm work. Nobody can do it apart from Naked.

“People can see how men and women trooped out in their numbers for the protest. If he is not a good person, such thing will not happen”.

Mr Welekwe advised Government and security agencies to apprehend ‘Cairo’ and ‘Oyibo’ accused of killing the OSPAC personnel rather than chasing shadows.

Our correspondent reports that four Divisional Police Officers from different Division including that of Rumuji, a retired Commissioner of Police from Elele addressed the protesters and assured that their complaints will be channeled to the appropriate authorities.

The protesting women barricaded one section of the road for at least four hours and left after they were addressed by the security agencies.
