Victor Osimhen is set to make one final appearance for Galatasaray this weekend before joining the Super Eagles camp for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles striker is expected to feature for Galatasaray in their Turkish Super Lig clash against Antalyaspor on Saturday, September 13. This match will precede his travel to the national team camp
Osimhen was one of the key players named in coach Eric Chelle’s 28-man squad for the upcoming AFCON.

Usually, FIFA regulations allow participating AFCON countries to have their players released at least two weeks before the tournament’s start.
However, a recent change was implemented this year, as clubs were informed they could retain their players until one week before the competition kicks off.
FIFA’s stance significantly impacts the Super Eagles, as the majority of the players are based at European clubs, with Osimhen being a top example.
The 26-year-old striker is an integral player for Galatasaray, which is why the club has held onto him until the last permitted moment.
They face Antalyaspor at the Corendon Airlines Park on Saturday. Galatasaray has since released their official squad, and Osimhen is confirmed to be part of the traveling team.

The Super Eagles star is likely to lead the attack as Galatasaray aims for their 12th win of the season.
Osimhen has already scored five goals in eight Super Lig starts this season and will be looking to add to that tally before heading off to the AFCON with Nigeria.
AFCON 2025: When Will Victor Osimhen Join the Super Eagles Camp?
Victor Osimhen is expected to leave Turkey immediately after the match between Galatasaray and Antalyaspor.
As one of the team’s leaders, coach Eric Chelle will need the former Napoli star to arrive in camp as early as possible.

With just eight days before the competition kicks off, the entire Super Eagles squad must assemble quickly and get focused so they can perform well, or perhaps, win it.
