Ogun: Gov Abiodun Appoints Former Commissioner As Chief Of Staff

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has appointed Oluwatoyin Taiwo as his new Chief of Staff.

Naijaonpoint understands that before assuming this role, Taiwo served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the governor, following his tenure as Commissioner for Culture and Tourism during Abiodun’s first term.

The announcement was made through a statement signed by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, and shared with journalists on Thursday.

According to the statement, Taiwo’s appointment officially took effect on December 18, 2024, with the governor personally handing him the appointment letter on Wednesday.

In the statement, Governor Abiodun congratulated Taiwo, describing his appointment as “well-deserved” and commending his dedication and service.

Taiwo, an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, holds a B.Sc. in Statistics and has pursued advanced academic qualifications, including a Ph.D.

His extensive experience in governance and strategic roles makes him a pivotal figure in the governor’s team.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has officially approved the appointment of 160 individuals to the positions of Supervisory Councilors and Special Assistants across all 33 Local Government areas within the state.

The state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, announced this in Ibadan, the state capital.

The appointed individuals include 93 Supervisory Councilors and 67 Special Assistants, with representation for Persons Living With Disabilities.

Ojo emphasized that this initiative is in line with the governor’s commitment to ensuring that every segment of society is represented in the current administration’s decision-making processes.
