The Ogun State Government has shut down a private nursery and primary school, Perfect Light, located at Eyinogbe in the Sagamu Local Government Area of the state for an alleged sexual assault of a minor.

It was alleged that the proprietor of the school sexually abused a minor, resulting in bleeding and damage of her private part.

The proprietor was said to have been arrested by the police as probe into the incident had commenced.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Ronke Soyombo, while visiting the school, expressed disgust at the alleged abuse and the deplorable conditions under which the pupils were learning.

She assured the community that the present administration in conjunction with Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command, had stepped into the matter and would ensure adequate investigation, while legal sanctions would be taken against the perpetrator.

She also affirmed the commitment of the government towards providing conducive learning conditions for the betterment of learners in both private and public schools irrespective of their level, urging parents to take good care of their children and ensure they are not exposed to social vices.

The special adviser stated that the Ministry of Education had been working collaboratively with the State Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to carry out medical examinations and ensure the well-being of the affected child.

Soyombo assured the parents that other learners in the community would be enrolled at the nearest public primary school in Igode to continue their education without any hitch, warning perpetrators of evil acts to leave the State because the current administration would not take it easy with them.
