OGUN: Police rescue 12-year-old, arrest suspects in covert operation

THE Ogun State Police Command has announced the successful rescue of a 12-year-old girl who went missing in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, in a covert operation led by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

In a statement issued yesterday evening in Abeokuta, the state capital, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, revealed that the operation, directed by the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, led to the recovery of the girl in Ayetoro, Ogun State, and the arrest of all individuals involved in the abduction.

The statement highlighted that the rescue was the result of prompt action and intelligence-driven efforts by the Anti-Kidnapping team.

“With a swift covert operation led by the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit located the missing girl in Ayetoro, Ogun State, and apprehended all suspects connected to the case,” the statement read.

The police assured the public that additional information regarding the operation, the suspects, and the circumstances of the abduction would be disclosed during a press briefing by the Commissioner of Police today.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.
